What is our Comedy Trivia?

Our Comedy Trivia is pub-style Trivia that is presented in a fun and humorous way. It is Trivia on a wide range of topics including pop culture, sports, general knowledge, TV, films, music, geography, art, history, etc.

 

Our Trivia Hosts can be booked for private events, weekly, or monthly Trivia nights at your Pub/Club/Bar/Venue if your space is suitable. Each of our Trivia Hosts are confident, cheeky, clear-speaking, humorous, and inclusive. Their aim is to present Trivia in an immersive and entertaining way that has everyone participating and having fun.

 

Our goal is to make our audiences laugh, have fun, and learn new things!

How it Works

Not only do we use all our own equipment but our Trivia show can be run in virtually any venues and spaces.

 

For standard Trivia events, up to two hours long, our equipment consists of a portable DJ booth that holds our laptop, audio mixer, wireless microphone system, and mini DJ controller. Up to four powerful 15" speakers on stands (depending on venue and audience size), six colourful synchronised LED lightbars that stand either side of our Trivia Host's booth to give the Trivia a 'TV game show' feel and up to 20x colourful LED venue uplights (to create an energetic vibe and light up the dance floor if there's DJing afterwards!

 

For more limited spaces - or much shorter games - we have a more basic and compact setup, so we barely take up any space at all!

 

If we are also DJing and/or hosting Karaoke at the event then we will conveniently use our DJ/Karaoke equipment that we already have setup for that - so yes, we can provide up to 3 different forms of entertainment at the one event!

 

Our Hosts are completely self-sufficient, they bring all the supplies needed by trivia participants (including all the equipment, pens, answer sheets and picture round sheets (if we don't use a screen and it's paper-based) - all you need to provide is a single electrical outlet, enough tables and chairs for the participants, and the prizes (ask us for recommendations). If it's a public pub Trivia night our Host will walk around your venue before they start, putting together impromptu teams of customers that should then stay on to continue drinking and/or eating while playing Trivia.

Trivia Styles and Format

At Friendly DJs and Trivia we offer both digital and paper Trivia formats that are accessible to all ages, event styles, venues, and spaces.

Choose Your Format

Digital Trivia

​

  • Includes spoken questions, musical questions, and digital minigames.

  • Allows contestants or Teams to see the questions and answer options onscreen as the Trivia Host announces them.

  • Allows Teams or individuals to answer questions using their mobile phones.

Paper Trivia (for venues and events without TVs/screens available)

​

  • Includes spoken questions, musical questions, and printed picture rounds​.​

  • Teams nominate one player to write down all their answers.

  • Teams swap answer sheets at the end and mark another Teams sheet.

Choose Your Style

​

Trivia sessions will be customised to your events' needs and can be any length from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

​

To give an example of style, a 2 hour paper Trivia session usually consists of the following:

​​

  • Four rounds of up to 10 questions.

  • One printed picture round (e.g. guess the celebrity face, guess the location).

  • Three music questions per round (songs are well-known songs that are live DJ-edited to make them really hard to guess - e.g. played in reverse, dramatically slowed-down or sped-up, vocals removed etc.) and the song is gradually  returned to normal until the first team who guesses the song and artist name wins the point.

  • One 'hands up' bonus round, where all players are asked questions and put their hands up for a true answer or keep their hands down for a false answer. Players are then eliminated for a wrong answer and this continues until all but one winning player is left.

  • One 'running date' bonus round (e.g a date-based question like "when was Cadbury founded?" and one player from each Team has to write down their answer and quickly bring it up to the Host and then go back to their Team to write down a new guess if they're wrong).

(2 rounds, 2 bonus rounds, picture round, music round)
