Our Comedy Trivia is pub-style Trivia that is presented in a fun, cheeky, and humorous way!

 

Our Trivia can include a wide range of topics e.g.:

And/or any other custom questions and topics you request.

Our Trivia Hosts can be booked for weekly and/or monthly public events at any suitable venue including:

Or we can be booked for private events including:

Each of our Trivia Hosts are confident, cheeky, clear-speaking, humorous, and inclusive. Their aim is to present Trivia in an immersive and entertaining way that has everyone participating and having fun.

How It Works

Never hosted a Trivia event before, or looking to customise a session to suit your event's specific needs? 

No problem. We'll work with you to create a Trivia event suitable for up to 300 people, which can be adapted to almost any venue, function space, or audience.

 

Before your event, we'll provide a complimentary consultation to discuss your venue, expected crowd size and demographics, preferred Trivia topics, and the number of rounds, bonus rounds, and questions you'd like included. Once your booking is confirmed, we'll work with you to create a schedule that fits seamlessly around any speeches, presentations, competitions, meals, or other activities taking place during your event.

When it's time to play, our Host will arrive fully prepared with all necessary pens, answer sheets, printed picture rounds, and our sound or lighting equipment (if you've hired it). All you need to provide is a power outlet, suitable seating, and any prizes you'd like to award.

For public venue Trivia events (e.g. pub Trivia nights), our Host does more than simply arrive and start asking questions. Before the event begins, they'll actively engage with your patrons by distributing answer sheets and pens, introducing themselves to new players and teams, welcoming regular teams and players, and coordinating with your staff regarding the event structure and prize giveaways.

 

Where appropriate (and excluding gaming areas), our Host will also move throughout your venue before the event to invite other patrons to stay on and play Trivia. This helps maximise player numbers while increasing the amount of time patrons remain on-site purchasing food and beverages, creating additional value for your venue.

Need a P.A For Your Event?

We've got all the equipment needed to run events of up to 300 people.

As with most events, to run Trivia you'll need a sound P.A system with a wireless microphone, speakers, and the ability to play music through this system.

If you don't have this equipment, then available for hire is our compact, professional setup that includes a DJ booth, high-quality sound system and mixer, mini DJ controller for the music and music questions, wireless microphones, and optional LED lightbars to create a fun game-show-style atmosphere. The system can be scaled to suit everything from small private functions to large public events.

With our standard Trivia setup we can also provide background music during events and some basic DJing.


Want even more excitement? If you upgrade to our full equipment package we can combine Trivia with our DJing services and can also provide Karaoke and Bingo - giving you up to four different entertainment forms within a single event!

Trivia Format and Style

At Friendly DJs and Trivia we offer both digital and paper Trivia formats that are accessible to all ages, event styles, and venues.

Choose Your Format

Paper Trivia (standard)

  • Spoken questions, music rounds, picture rounds, and bonus games.

  • Teams record answers on paper answer sheets.

  • Teams swap and mark answer sheets in the middle and end of the event.

Digital Trivia (optional - additional fee applies)

  • Includes all multiple-choice questions spoken and displayed onscreen and players phones, musical questions, printed picture rounds, and bonus games after each round.

  • Players answer using their mobile phones.

  • Suitable for individuals or teams.

  • Ongoing scoring after each question.

Choose Your Style

Trivia sessions will be customised to your events' needs and can be any length from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Generally it takes about 30 minutes per round which includes a bonus round Mini Game after the questions.

For an example of style, a 2 hour paper Trivia session usually consists of the following:

  • Four rounds of 8 or 9 spoken questions and a bonus round Mini Game after each round (3 or 4 in total). 

  • One or two live DJ-edited music challenges per round by our Trivia Host, where they use professional DJ software to change well known songs and make them hard to identify. Songs might be reversed, sped up, slowed down, stripped back to just the drums or bass and/or modified in other ways. As clues are revealed and the song is returned back to normal, teams race to identify the song title and artist to win the point.

  • One printed picture round (e.g. guess the celebrity, guess the location, guess the car manufacturer, guess the book).​

Bonus Round Mini Games

To keep things fun and exciting after each question round is completed we like to play Mini Games!

 

Our crowd favourite Mini Games include the following and are usually played for instant prizes and bonus team points:

  • Heads or Tails: True or False - Players answer a series of true-or-false questions using hand signals. Incorrect answers are eliminated until one player remains, winning an individual prize and a bonus point for their Team.

  • Paper Aeroplane Competition - Teams build and fly a paper aeroplane, with the longest throw winning a shared prize and a bonus point.

  • Guess the Celebrity - Teams race to identify a famous person from a series of clues. The first correct Team wins a shared prize and a bonus point.
     

  • Heads or Tails: Coin Toss - Players predict the outcome of two coin flips using hand signals. Incorrect guesses are eliminated until one player remains, winning an individual prize and a bonus point for their Team.

  • Rock Paper Scissors Tournament - Players pair off and battle through a fast-paced knockout tournament of Rock Paper Scissors until only one winner remains.

  • Guess the Date - Teams compete to correctly guess the year of a historical event, person, or milestone. The first Team to find the correct answer wins a shared prize and a bonus point.

  • Blindfolded Dance Battle - Each Team nominates a dancer to perform blindfolded. The best and/or most entertaining performance wins an individual prize and bonus points for their Team.

  • 1st Place grand prize - a $100.00 voucher for your venue, spendable on food and drinks and valid for one month.

Promoting and Managing Your Trivia Event

When you partner with us we'd love to help however we can and will assist with managing the event and getting the word out!

This includes:

  • Writing a promotional blurb and creating a professional event flyer for use online and in print.

  • Supplying social media graphics and event images sized for Facebook and Instagram.

  • Promoting public events through our website and social media channels.

  • Providing advice on scheduling, prize ideas and promotional strategies to help maximise attendance and retention.

  • Providing photos and video footage from your event for future marketing and social media use.

  • Working with you to develop themed Trivia nights tied to holidays, sporting events, or special occasions.
